Due to the high number of missed appointments by patients not attending we are going to implement a new policy.
During the past year we have lost on average 40 appointments a month. This amounts to just over 6 hours of surgery time which is equivalent to one doctor losing 2.5 working weeks a year.
As a result we would appreciate 24 hours notice of cancellation wherever possible. Failure to give sufficient notice of cancellation or failure to attend will be classed as a missed appointment.
Should you miss more than three appointments within a six month period you will be required to discuss the reason for your missed appointments with the Practice Manager and this may result in your being asked to register with another practice.
We are sorry that we have to implement this policy but wasted appointments mean delays for other patients as well as the inefficient use of our time.
Thank you for your co-operation.
